Disappointment
It was a bit of a disappointment for cousin Jan Peter. The three cousins, Betty and Hilda and Rudy looked a bit surprised as city Groningen dwellers. Jan Peter thought he could speak Gronings with the three others. But while they understand Gronings, they don’t speak it. Jan Peter sings as the lead vocalist of the group Driefzand in Gronings.

In recent months, Jan Peter has made wonderful strides with Driefzand. An interview with Radio Noord was released in November, and in December, the song “Op doagen as dizze” was launched. Both moments can be viewed here on YouTube.
In the interview and the song, Jan Peter expresses his pride in coming from Groningen and the joy he feels when he returns to his beloved Groningen.
